 COMPLETE Skate builds youth resiliency through school counseling and skateboarding via the following programs: + CS Afterschool Program A 24 week-long youth development program aimed at increasing students' school day success and ability to plan. Based on teacher referrals, 12-15 students participate per site and receive skateboard equipment, gear and events for fulfilling program requirements, including: 1 hour of tutoring/week 1 hour of a youth development activity/week 1+ service learning activity/term In turn, students earn skateboarding and skateboarding equipment, clothing and events and begin to develop a future story rooted in positive attributes. CS Instructors communicate regularly with participants' parents, teachers and school counselors in an effort to keep participants on par with their peers. + CS Schoolday Program COMPLETE Skate partners with public and alternative K-12 schools in an effort to reach students uninterested, unwilling or unable to take accountability for their schoolday responsibilities. Getting skateboarding and skateboarding equipment, clothing and events to youth needing a push to step their game up during the schoolday, CS Instructors collaborate with students' parents, teachers and school counselors to keep kids on track in school. 0 comments |
